The Info GUI Window

Information about the current dataset

Introduction

A rather short introduction to the Info GUI.

If in a hurry

(c) Wikipedia.org, Tkgd2007, (CC BY-SA 2.5) On the top right, you can select the dataset you want to see more information for. Below this listbox you will find four buttons that let you switch between the different panels on the left, each with information about certain aspects of the dataset.

A short description of each of these panels can be found below the buttons. Below that is an explanation of the colour codes of the edit fields explaining which fields are editable and with which you should be careful.

To the gentle reader

The “Info GUI” is designed to give you both a good overview of and full access to every parameter that is stored within the GUI for a certain dataset.

At the same time, you can use this GUI to manipulate many of the parameters.

Accessing the Info GUI

There are several ways how to access the Info GUI. Probably the most convenient ones are: Either press the <key>Info</key> button located in the row of buttons at the bottom left of the Main GUI window, or press <key>F3</key>. This will open the ACC GUI window, as shown below. Other ways are via <key>Ctrl+i</key> if the currently highlighted GUI element is one of the listboxes showing the datasets in the dataset panel of the main GUI or via the window that opens if you double-click on an entry of such listbox to edit the label.

Figure 1: The Info GUI window of the TA toolbox. Different to most of the other GUI windows this window has a slighly different layout. Nevertheless, all the controls to switch between the dominating panels on the left can be found to the right.

Layout

The GUI is divided into two parts: On the right, you have the main controls that let you switch between all datasets that are currently loaded into the GUI, and the different panels each presenting a different subset of information about the currently selected dataset.

You can switch between the panels with the buttons on the right or via shortcuts <key>Ctrl-1</key> to <key>Ctrl-4</key>.

Additionally, you can find a short description for each of the four panels below the panel switches, followed by an explanation of the colour coding of the fields in the respective panels.

A more detailed description of each of the four panels can be found in respective help topics:
